A small team in Melbourne

Responsible AI, put to work.

We help organisations work out where AI belongs, test it before people rely on it, and build tools that keep people in charge.

Does this need AI?Sometimes the wise answer is no.

Who we work with

Organisations that want the good of AI without gambling on it.

  • Education providers

Clear rules and useful tools for staff and students who are already using AI.

  • Not-for-profits

AI that stretches limited time and funding without risking the trust of the people you serve.

  • Community organisations

Plain advice on what is safe and worthwhile, with no technical team needed.

  • Small and mid-sized businesses

Help choosing where AI pays off, and building it when nothing off the shelf fits.

Three ways we can help

Start wherever you are: still deciding, about to launch, or ready to build.

Responsible should be something you can see

It’s easy to call AI responsible. We prefer design choices you can point to. These are examples from the products we build.

We use Australia’s AI Ethics Principles and the National AI Centre’s Guidance for AI Adoption as reference points in our work.

  • Sources you can follow

Answers and drafts link back to where they came from, so people can check them.

  • Rules in code, not just prompts

Where a rule matters, software enforces it instead of trusting the AI to follow it.

  • People make the call

AI drafts and suggests. A person decides what happens next.

  • Limits stated up front

We say what a tool can’t do, and show when it isn’t sure.

How we work

From the first conversation to well after launch.

  1. Discovery
  2. Decide if AI fits
  3. Design
  4. Build
  5. Test
  6. Launch
  7. Monitor

We build our own AI products too

Building products keeps our advice practical. We deal with the same questions about accuracy, privacy and cost that you do.

Common questions

What is responsible AI?

Responsible AI means using AI in ways that are useful, safe and fair, with people staying accountable for the results. In practice, that means knowing what a system does, testing it, protecting people’s data, being open about its use, and giving people a way to question its results.

Do we actually need AI?

Not always. Sometimes a simpler process or existing software is the better answer, and we’ll tell you if so.

What kinds of organisations do you work with?

We’re best suited to education providers, not-for-profits, community organisations, and small and mid-sized businesses.

Do you work outside Melbourne?

Yes. We’re based in Melbourne and can work remotely with organisations across Australia.

Do you give legal advice?

No. We can identify privacy and compliance questions in an AI project, but legal advice should come from a qualified lawyer.
